REGIONAL SALES MANAGER ( Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, Kananaskis, Alberta, or, Alyeska Resort, Girdwood, Alaska)

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth across Pomeroy Resorts' two destination resort properties: Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, and Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge in Kananaskis, Alberta. Representing both properties under the Pomeroy Resorts portfolio, this role develops new business, manages existing accounts, and builds strategic relationships within assigned geographic and market segments.

The Regional Sales Manager serves as a unified market representative for both resorts, positioning each property individually while leveraging the combined strength, experiences, and capabilities of the Pomeroy Resorts portfolio. The role combines proactive prospecting, account management, presentations, site tours, FAMs, market analysis, forecasting, and cross-property coordination to deliver strong financial results and exceptional client and guest experiences.

The Role:

Sales Strategy and Business Development

• Develop and execute a regional sales plan aligned with the strategic priorities, revenue goals, target markets, and need periods of both Alyeska Resort and Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, client outreach, sales calls, referrals, networking, tradeshows, and industry events.
• Maintain a robust and qualified sales funnel, converting leads into profitable business and ensuring a consistent pipeline of future opportunities.
• Develop proposals, presentations, and sales solutions that clearly communicate the distinct value of each resort, identify cross-property opportunities, and respond to each client's business needs.
• Conduct sales calls and presentations and represent both resort properties, under the Pomeroy Resorts portfolio, at industry events, tradeshows, market activations, and client functions.

Account and Relationship Management

• Manage and grow assigned accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and share of business.
• Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers, travel partners, corporate clients, meeting planners, and industry stakeholders, serving as the primary market contact for both resort properties.
• Organize and execute familiarization trips, client visits, and site tours that showcase the accommodations, meeting spaces, dining, wellness, mountain, and destination experiences available across both resort properties.
• Serve as a trusted resort contact throughout the sales process and ensure commitments are clearly documented and communicated to operational teams.

Revenue and Market Performance

• Achieve established revenue, room night, activity, and account production goals for both properties while maintaining rate integrity, profitability, and an appropriate balance of business across the portfolio.
• Prepare accurate property-specific and consolidated sales forecasts, activity reports, account plans, and pipeline updates; monitor performance against each resort's budget and adjust strategies as required.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, client needs, and economic conditions to identify risks, opportunities, and changes in demand.
• Maintain accurate and timely account, contact, activity, and opportunity information within resort sales systems.

Cross Functional Collaboration and Guest Experience

• Work closely with the Sales and Marketing, Revenue Management, Reservations, Banquets, Food and Beverage, Rooms, Finance, and operational teams at both resorts to align sales commitments, market activity, and service delivery.
• Provide complete and timely client information to support contracting, group planning, site inspections, arrivals, and service delivery.
• Uphold high standards of client and guest service, ensuring every interaction reflects the quality, hospitality, and reputation of Pomeroy Resorts and both destination properties.
• Participate in training, coaching, and professional development; share market insights and sales best practices to strengthen team performance.

  Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum five years of experience in sales and marketing, event management, food and beverage, or a related professional field; current hotel or resort sales experience strongly preferred. Ski industry experience is an asset.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
• Sales and Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated success generating new business, managing accounts, building a sales pipeline, and achieving revenue goals. Strong analytical, planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial skills.
• Communication and Relationship Management: Excellent presentation, negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build credibility and long-term relationships with diverse clients and stakeholders.
• Organization and Execution: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and coordinate client commitments across departments in a fast-paced resort environment.
• Systems and Industry Knowledge: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with OPERA and hotel sales systems is an asset. Working knowledge of the resort and travel industries, current market trends, and economic factors.
• Location and Travel : The preferred location is within reasonable access of either Alyeska Resort or Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. A remote arrangement may be considered for the right candidate based in a major business hub with strong access to target accounts and efficient air service to both properties. Regular travel to Alyeska Resort, Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, client markets, and industry events is required.

Work Environment : This role may be based at Alyeska Resort, remotely within a reasonable distance of Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, or from another approved major business hub. The position requires flexibility across time zones and regular travel to both properties and assigned client markets. Extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays may occasionally be required to support clients, peak business periods, site tours, and special events. The role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced, guest-centric environment with frequent interaction with team members, guests, clients, and stakeholders.
