  • Accountable for the site Emergency Response preparedness and execution of the mandated drill schedules.
  • Develop and manage social performance plan (including concerns/complaints) consistent with corporate position ensuring positive public and local emergency response plans.

Assets:

  • Maintain a high level of terminal reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, and ensuring product availability for Shell's customers.
  • Optimizing the physical commissioned assets/equipment to best value through routine maintenance, value added capital injection, and adherence to corporate standards and strategic direction.
  • Work with regional engineering and subject matter experts on asset/equipment/system integrity issues and action plan implementation.

Operational Excellence:

  • Manage external relationships: Fire; Police; Industrial Associations; Emergency Responders; Environmental Agencies (e.g. Police, Fire Dept, MECP, TSSA, Transport Canada, etc)

  • Develop robust structure and process for development, budgeting and execution of annual maintenance work for the sites.
  • Routine assessment of operations against standards and procedures via Line of Defence (LOD-1) program.

Cost Controls & Value Creation:

  • Manage expense operating budget to maximize value at lowest cost. Involves constant prioritization of maintenance, legislative or corporate directed requirements balancing against known risks.
  • Financial accountability of the asset including stock loss/gain reporting and investigation as well as operating expenditure forecasting and follow-on year(s) budget planning.
  • Interface and work collaboratively with Supply, HSSE, Product Quality, Mobility, Engineering, and balance of Distribution Operations teams to share learnings, manage issues and improve overall effectiveness/contribution.

  • Capability of managing key internal and external relationships across department and property boundaries
  • Excellent technical/operational skill sets that likely include Engineering and/or a maintenance/operations background
  • Developed and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to support high morale amidst changing workplace requirements and higher workloads in a low-cost environment
