Build high-performance Java applications for real-time data streaming in Toronto’s hybrid model, working three days weekly in the office.This Senior Software Developer contract supports a next-generation Cash Equities data platform. You will work with Core Java, Kafka, GCP, and scalable data pipelines. The platform serves as a central data store and distribution layer for trades and orders. Its capabilities support surveillance, regulatory reporting, and downstream financial processes.Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain high-performance Java applications and servicesDesign event-driven architectures and real-time streaming pipelinesDevelop and operate Kafka-based streaming solutionsUse BigQuery, Dataflow, GKE, and Cloud StorageTroubleshoot production issues and improve platform reliabilityRequirements:
Eight to twelve years of software development experienceStrong Core Java expertise, including Java 17Kafka and GCP cloud data engineering experienceUnderstanding of data structures, modelling, and transformation pipelinesFunctional programming experience in JavaApply your Core Java, Kafka, and GCP expertise to scalable real-time financial data platform development in Toronto.
