DEFINITION:Under the direction of the Programs Supervisor, or his/her delegate, supervises public ice activities, assists with a variety of janitorial tasks, performs cash functions at the Sportsplex during public skating, and related programmes.EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:Supervise public use of the Sportsplex;Maintain order on the ice surface;Distribute skates and helmets when needed;Perform janitorial duties, as assigned;Collect cash for public skating programmes and record daily cash receipts; Provide basic first aid when required; Other related duties, as required.MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Proficient skater;Ability to operate related equipment;Some janitorial experience;First Aid training;Ability to work independently and to accomplish tasks and assignments; Ability to deal effectively with co-workers and the public;Good written and oral communication skills.Reliable transportation to attend work.
