Facility Services Operator I and Parks Worker Position Overview
The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is currently inviting applications for the full -time blended position of Facility Services Operator I and Parks Worker . This role will be scheduled as Facility Services Operator I from October to March, moving to Parks Worker from March to October, with slight adjustments depending on operational requirements . The Facility Services Operator I perform s operational, maintenance, and safety-related duties for arenas and aquatic facilities , through routine inspections, minor maintenance, equipment operation, and customer service . The Parks Worker is primarily responsible for the maintenance of the SCRD ’s parks properties and assets in a public safety conscious manner and assists with or completes construction projects as required. Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package, including comprehensive benefits available as soon as you join us ! This means extended health and dental coverage, including paid eyewear and eye exams, orthotics, and up to $1250 annually for chiro, massage, acupuncture, physio, and more. In addition to three weeks of vacation, we offer 13 paid statutory holidays (after 30 days of employment), as well as paid family responsibility leave, sick leave, short -term and long -term disability leave, group life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, participation in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP), and an Employ ee Family Assistance Program .
This is a bargaining unit position working 37.5 to 40 hours per week , depending on operational requirements . Both positions ( Facility Services Operator I and Parks Worker ) are paid $35.38 per hour . Please note work may include both evenings and weekends and appointment is subject to a satisfactory RCMP Police Information Check including vulnerable sector check .
