Client Engagement Manager (Medical Publications)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Client Engagement Manager (Medical Publications) based in Canada. The Client Engagement Manager will lead day-to-day client relationships and the successful delivery of medical publications programs across assigned accounts and projects. This role serves as a central connection point between clients and multidisciplinary internal teams, translating strategic objectives into clear execution plans. You will oversee projects from initiation through completion while keeping scope, timelines, budgets, quality, and compliance on track. The position combines client partnership, project coordination, financial oversight, and medical communications expertise in a fast-paced agency environment. You will work closely with Creative, Editorial, Digital, Project, and medical, regulatory, and legal stakeholders to deliver high-quality materials. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to account growth, mentor junior colleagues, and participate in client-facing industry activities. This is a full-time, home-based opportunity in the United States, with hybrid options available for candidates near designated offices. Accountabilities: - Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact for assigned accounts and projects, providing responsive, solutions-oriented service. - Lead medical communications and medical publications programs from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. - Lead regular client status meetings, including agenda preparation, status reporting, meeting recaps, and timely follow-up. - Coordinate closely with Creative, Editorial, Digital, Project, and other internal teams to manage day-to-day program execution. - Review project deliverables to ensure alignment with client objectives, feedback, strategies, regulatory guidance, and applicable client processes. - Manage project and account financials, including budget tracking, invoicing, reconciliations, forecasting, and identification of scope changes. - Develop and manage change orders and contribute to proposals and Statements of Work as needed.

- Ensure compliance with agency and client SOPs, industry regulations, and applicable requirements, including PhRMA and Open Payments guidelines. - Supervise and support medical, regulatory, and legal review processes, including document submissions through systems such as Veeva. - Participate in onsite client meetings, advisory boards, congress activities, and speaker programs when required. - Coach and support junior team members by providing guidance, feedback, and workload prioritization. - Identify opportunities for organic account growth and support business development initiatives. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree required; Communications, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred. An advanced degree is a plus. - 4–6+ years of experience in medical communications, medical education, pharmaceutical marketing, or a related field. - Strong understanding of the life sciences industry, therapeutic landscapes, and the drug development process. - Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and communicate effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders. - Strong financial acumen, including experience with forecasting, SOW development, budget management, and profitability considerations. - Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. - Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, regulatory compliance, and process adherence. - Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management systems.
