Job Description

• Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with all project stakeholders to gather and analyse operational requirements and translate them into technical specifications and system requirements that guide the design and development process.
• System Design: Participate in the design and development of systems architecture and subsystems, which includes defining system components, interfaces, and interactions to ensure they align with operational requirements.
• Integration and Testing: Oversee the integration of various subsystems and components to ensure they function together seamlessly as a cohesive system. Also conduct integration testing to verify system performance and interoperability.
• Verification and Validation: Develop and execute verification and validation plans to ensure that the system meets specified requirements and performs as expected under various operational scenarios.
• Risk Management : Identify and assess technical risks associated with system design, integration, and operation, and develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential issues that could impact project success.

Qualifications

• Proof of STEM diploma (2 year minimum) in networking, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in system engineering in a minimum of 3 of this assessment area's criteria:

1. Demonstrated work experience in planning, configuring, employing and managing command and control communication and information systems in a distributed platform environment or within a client/server environment, or ISTAR systems.
2. Demonstrated work experience in identifying, analyzing and resolving complex communication and information system and/or ISTAR system problems.
3. Demonstrated work experience in analyzing, designing and/or implementing solutions for communication and information systems or ISTAR systems.
4. Demonstrated work experience in developing and documenting system management solutions (tools and processes) for command and control communication and information systems in mobile platforms or within a client/server environment, or ISTAR systems.
5. Demonstrated work experience in system integration, verification and validation, for hardware and software components (COTS and/or custom developed) in new or existing systems;
6. Demonstrated work experience in life-cycle management of tactical communication and information systems, or ISTAR systems.

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a System Specialist on Military C4ISR systems.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering. 
• Minimum of 4 years experience in each of at least three of this assessment area's criteria:

1. Communicating information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff.
2. Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems.
3. Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
4. Participating in multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks or strategies.
5. Performing strategic, operational or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy. 

• Willingness and ability to travel: Will be traveling for work at different times to other NATO countries.

Additional Information

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government Secret level Clearance 
• Able to go onsite 5 days a week in Gatineau
