Location: Prince George and Burns Lake, BC

Employment Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week

The Opportunity: The Community Wellness Coordinator will support Community Wellness team members in each community to respond to health and child welfare matters, and to assist in the development of preventative community strategies and planning.

  • Assess community needs and provide guidance and support in accordance with the established terms of reference and relevant legislation.
  • Plan and facilitate capacity-building activities within the community, including mentoring, training, workshops, and one-on-one support in collaboration with the Community Wellness team.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly meetings with the Community Wellness team with each Nation, and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Act as a key contact for the Community Wellness team, CSFS, and the Nations, providing information and resources, and supporting collaboration with partners such as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), and the Ministry for Children and Family Development (MCFD).

What You Will Bring to The Role:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field is preferred; or
  • A Diploma in Human Services with five (5) or more years of related experience, including experience working with First Nations communities.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Wage Range: The target hiring range for this position is $28.80 to $37.30 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants' role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
