Medical Device Reprocessing Technician II
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre
Medical Device Reprocessing Technician II work centers on surgical case carts, decontamination equipment, and sterile instrumentation preparation. This role supports regular, specialized, and emergency situations.
The Technician II prepares and packages sterile supplies while ensuring quality indicators are met. Duties include operating sterilization equipment, delivering supplies, and collecting them. Candidates need an approved Sterile Supply Processing Certificate and instrumentation experience. Previous Technician II experience in an MDRC is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical case carts for regular situations
- Prepare specialized and emergency surgical case carts
- Operate decontamination and sterilization equipment
- Prepare and package sterile instrumentation and supplies
- Deliver and pick up supplies
Requirements:
- Approved Sterile Supply Processing Certificate required
- Instrumentation experience essential for this position
- Previous Technician II MDRC experience essential
- Knowledge of surgical services and complex instrumentation
- Proficient case cart preparation and computer skills
