Data Solutions Architect (4-Month Contract)

About the Role:

Reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing, the Data Solutions Architect will be responsible for creating an integrated pricing and margin management solution by extracting data from Dynamics 365 Business Central, developing sophisticated calculations and data models within Microsoft Fabric, and delivering insights through Power BI and custom-built dashboards. You will work closely with Sales and Marketing stakeholders to create tools that support pricing decisions, competitive intelligence, and business growth.

The successful applicant will:

• Architect and develop a scalable regional B2B Pricing Engine leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies.


• Design and implement secure data extraction processes from Dynamics 365 Business Central using OData APIs and Azure Entra ID service principles.


• Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse environments and data pipelines using PySpark and advanced SQL.


• Develop complex business logic including FIFO inventory costing, freight accruals, margin calculations, and financial analytics.


• Create data models that support forecasting, segmentation, pricing optimization, and business performance analysis.


• Design and develop intuitive dashboards and applications that serve as both a Pricing Configurator and Competitor Bounty data entry tool for the sales team.


• Develop advanced Power BI reporting solutions and DAX measures to support dynamic financial and operational insights.


• Build modern user interfaces using React.js and Node.js, while integrating Power BI Embedded capabilities where appropriate.


• Ensure data quality, performance, scalability, and security across all data and reporting solutions.


• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and attributes:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.


• Minimum three years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, business intelligence, analytics, or a related role.


• Proven experience designing and implementing data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and enterprise reporting solutions.


• Strong expertise with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, and modern cloud-based data platforms.


• Advanced proficiency in Python (PySpark) and SQL, including the development of complex data transformations and inventory costing logic.


• Expert-level knowledge of Power BI and DAX, particularly in financial modeling, margin analysis, and layered business calculations.


• Experience developing front-end applications using React.js and Node.js.


• Knowledge of Power BI Embedded SDK is considered a strong asset.


• Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Business Central data structures, tables, and integrations is highly desirable.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


• Ability to manage projects independently and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.
