Assistant Site Supervisor

Job Responsibility:
Overview The Site Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage teams, ensure adherence to safety standards, and maintain quality control throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with proficiency in various software tools and techniques essential for successful project execution.
How you will make a difference:
- Provide guidance to team (labourers and subtrades) to ensure compliance with design, project specifications, regulations, and safety codes
- Ensure team complies with all Health and Safety policies and regulations
- Facilitate mandatory toolbox talks and completion of daily job hazard assessments
- Verify that crew members complete equipment safety inspections and inventory verifications
- Aid with the planning, organizing, direction of construction projects onsite from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget
- Plan, schedule, inspect and measure work completed
- Ensure that proper materials and quantities of materials are onsite each day prior to daily work commencing
- Periodically reassess daily goals to meet forecasted production
- Maintain two-week look ahead and communicate to client, subcontractors, and site superintendent
- Address and resolve any issues that may arise between crew members
- Promote a positive team environment
- Complete administrative duties onsite including daily logs and photos, health and safety reports, quality reports, compliance reports, incident reports, timesheets, packing slips, delivery receipts and any other documentation as required
- Assist Site Superintendent or Finishing Superintentent with any site related duties
How you WOW us
- Construction Engineering Technology (CET) diploma
- 2-5 years construction site supervision experience
- Proficient in the principles of residential highrise construction
- Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act and the Ontario Building Code
- Working knowledge of practices, procedures and documentation for finishing trades (flooring, cabinetry, counters etc) fall protection, traffic control, and use of construction equipment and machinery
- Valid G Class Driver's License with clean abstract
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Competent with computer skills: Excel, Project management software
- Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to read blue-prints, workorders, shop drawings and locates in order to successfully complete jobs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
