WHAT YOU WILL DO
Reporting to the Chair of Animation, Digital Media Design, and Game Development, the Animation Educational Assistant will be responsible for assisting instructional staff and students in the Animation program and DMD, Animation, and Game Development department. They will work with instructors to understand requirements for classes, meet with individual students to review assignments and projects, and assist with troubleshooting. The Educational Assistant will ensure students are learning and meeting standards required in the program. They may also be required to assist in the Creative Arts camera room and/or assist with social media posts— training will be provided. The Educational Assistant will be able to assist students in animation classes with technical issues and design questions. A solid, up-to-date understanding of Toon Boom Harmony and Storyboard Pro is necessary as is a strong foundation of animation theory and principles. The ideal candidate would be a 2D animation specialist with additional value-added skills in other Creative Arts areas such as motion design, graphic design, or 3D animation.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Graduate from a 2D Animation or post-secondary diploma or degree program, or equivalent
• Extensive experience using Toon Boom Harmony and Storyboard Pro software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
• Demonstrated leadership skills, managing projects
• Experience with posting social media post
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative
• Demonstrated life drawing skills
• Recent and relevant experience in the 2D Animation industry
• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with the Adobe suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere, Animate, Illustrator)
• Experience in other Creative Arts areas: Motion Design, VFX, Graphic Design, 3D Animation, UI/UX

• Salary Range for this position:  $28.95 - $40.75 hourly
