Legal Assistant - Construction Litigation

A leading Toronto-based law firm is seeking a skilled and highly organized Legal Assistant to join its Construction Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive legal professional to support complex construction litigation matters in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide administrative and legal support to lawyers in the Construction Litigation group, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, and court documents.Coordinate the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts and tribunals within prescribed deadlines.Maintain and organize client files, both electronic and hard copy, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to firm protocols.Manage multiple calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate travel arrangements, and handle incoming/outgoing communications.Track critical deadlines, limitation periods, and manage timelines for construction matters.Conduct basic legal research and assist with document production, disclosure, and trial preparation.Liaise professionally with clients, experts, court staff, and third parties as required.Process time entries, expenses, and support billing activities as necessary.- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a legal assistant, preferably in construction litigation.- Proficiency in case management software and tools such as Aderant and CompuLaw.- Strong knowledge of legal documentation processes and terminology.- Familiarity with construction law and litigation practices.- Excellent organizational and time management skills.- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and ACRIS.- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
