Bilingual Underwriter at Equitable Bank

Shape the future of banking as a Bilingual Residential Mortgage Underwriter at Equitable Bank. Review mortgage applications and ensure compliance while engaging directly with lenders and clients. In this critical role, you will handle mortgage files from approval to funding. Your responsibility includes thorough documentation review, interacting with mortgage brokers, and adhering to FINTRAC and AML guidelines. This position emphasizes fraud prevention within the Single Family Residential Department, making it essential for maintaining financial integrity. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze mortgage documents thoroughly
- Communicate with brokers to obtain necessary paperwork
- Verify compliance with AML and ATF regulations
- Manage timelines and prioritize multiple files
- Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders
- Post-secondary degree, preferably in finance or business
- 1-2 years’ experience in the mortgage sector
- Bilingual in French and English
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
