Position Description
We are in search of an experienced Editorial Coordinator to join our Creative Services team and contribute to the ongoing success of our award-winning publications.
The Editorial Coordinator is responsible for gathering and proofing all components of our publications, including magazines and calendars. This includes editing and proofreading all content to ensure that all materials are free of any errors, whilst ensuring that content is engaging and accessible to the customers. This position requires a creative mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and staying current with industry trends.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Edit and proof publications (magazines and calendars) to eliminate errors and ensure content quality
- Conduct thorough research, and verify information and facts to ensure the accuracy of the content
- Write clear, engaging, and error-free copy for publications
- Adhere to brand guidelines, style guides and writing style
- Coordinate publications from conceptualization to completion by working closely with the Art Director, Designers and Program Coordinators
- Use in-house software to complete customer personalization's
- Manage deadlines and production schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Assist with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
- Provide input on ways to streamline processes and procedures within the department
- Stay up to date with product offerings/services and industry trends
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of proofreading and copywriting experience
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is considered an asset
- Previous experience working within a publishing and/or print environment is an asset
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite, primarily Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Proficiency in utilizing ChatGPT Pro
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
