Automation and Controls Engineer/Specialist- 18 Month Term

Our Automation and Controls Engineers/Specialists develop and implement solutions to optimize production processes , improve plant safety, product quality, and production throughput. They are responsible for controls standards, PLC/HMI programming, equipment commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting of control system issues and project support. We’re looking for an Automation & Controls Engineer/Specialist for a 18 Month Term to join our Athabasca OSB Division, located in Slave Lake, Alberta. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press in North America , giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative products for customers around the world.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- A qualified Trades Certification with relevant experience , an Engineering degree, or an Engineering Technical Diploma .
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment (forest products manufacturing preferred).
- Experience with PLC programming such as Allen Bradley, HMI or Rockwell (Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred).
- Experience with Human Machine Interfaces.
- Proficient with FactoryTalk software (View, Linx, AssetCentre, etc.).
- Experience with industrial machine automation.

You'll earn an additional northern allowance on top of your base pay.
