As Registered Nurse (RN) you will become a vital member of a dynamic and compassionate team in a thriving community. You will create stronger connections with your patients from our practice of utilizing therapeutic relationship with an evidence-based approach. GBGH is looking for experienced RNs interested in working within our Float Team. The purpose of the Float Team is to provide additional support to GBGH’s three inpatient departments: 2 East - Acute Medicine, 2 North - Medical/Surgical and 1 North - CCC/Palliative/Rehab.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

• Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
• Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
• Current B.C.L.S Certification essential, on hire required
• V. Therapy (knowledge of Inotropes, Thrombolysis, etc.)
• Physical Assessment Adult/Paeds
• Central lines including accessing and blood sampling
• C.A pumps
• Phlebotomy
• Blood glucose monitoring
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.) preferred
• Current Advanced Pediatric Life Support (P.A.L.S) preferred
• Coronary Care – Level 1 preferred
• Coronary Care – Level 2 preferred
• Obstetrical Skills preferred
• Must be able to fulfill all physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with all patients, physicians, staff, and visitors
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development
• Willingness to participate in process improvement
• Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families as well as other members of the healthcare team within a challenging and exciting health care environment
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers

COMPENSATION

• Hourly rate of pay $41.15 - $58.98, plus 3-weeks of vacation to start

HOURS OF WORK
Full Time. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.
