Commercial Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Commercial Cleaner to join our facilities team in Midland, Ontario . In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout a commercial facility. The Commercial Cleaner performs routine custodial duties, supports health and safety initiatives, and helps ensure the facility meets CBRE's high standards for cleanliness and customer satisfaction. Essential Responsibilities

Cleaning & Custodial Duties

• Clean offices, lobbies, conference rooms, breakrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
• Restock restroom and kitchen supplies, including paper products, soap, and sanitizers.
• Clean windows, mirrors, glass partitions, and entrance doors.
• Spot clean walls, doors, light switches, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Perform periodic deep cleaning of assigned areas as scheduled.

Facility Maintenance

• Conduct routine inspections to identify cleanliness or safety concerns.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or repair needs to the Facilities Manager.
• Maintain custodial closets, equipment, and supply inventory.
• Safely operate commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, auto scrubbers, and floor machines.
• Follow established procedures for the safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

Health & Safety

• Follow all company policies, site procedures, and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Respond promptly to spills or other situations requiring immediate cleaning attention.

Customer Service

• Provide courteous and professional service to building occupants and visitors.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and facility needs.
• Work collaboratively with facility management and other site personnel to maintain a positive workplace environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Up to two years of commercial cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office is considered an asset but is not required.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs throughout the shift.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Safely operate custodial equipment and tools.
• Ability to work in various indoor environments and occasionally at heights or in confined spaces when required.
