ABA Therapist

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, Applied Behaviour Analytic interventions and consultation
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to work with families who are part of the Ontario Autism Program
• Strong interest in working with First Nations children
• Ability to work with clients living in remote areas using telepractice technology.
• Able to travel by plane to remote Northern First Nations Communities 4-6 times per year for up to 5 consecutive days

Qualifications/ Skills

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis
• Experience providing treatment and consultation to individuals with Autism, developmental delays, ADHD, and challenging behaviours
• Skilled in completing formal and informal assessments, and identifying client-centred, culturally sensitive, treatment goals
• Skilled in providing individual and group therapy sessions
• Skilled in developing and executing various trainings, workshops, and live webinars
• Able to adapt assessment and treatment approach to the needs of clients, including clients of different cultural backgrounds
• Able to creatively problem-solve to provide assessment and treatment programs catered to individual clients and settings (e.g., online)
• Ability to work in the field independently, without daily supervision while planning and delivering ABA services
• Able to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team including Speech-Language Pathologists, Communicative Disorders Assistants, Psychologists, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Rehabilitation Therapy Assistants.
• Possess the flexibility and strong time-management skills necessary to manage an ever-changing caseload
• Comfortable with technology, including telepractice/video conferencing technology
• Strong computer skills- Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Microsoft Teams
• Successful Criminal Record Check

Required education:

• Post-graduate certificate in ABA and/or undergraduate degree in a related field
• Registered Behaviour Technician RBT™ is an asset
