Children's Support Services

Summary:
The Childrens Support Services employee is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing environment in a residential setting to ensure the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of the children are met by providing recreation & education activities suitable for children. The Childrens Support Services employee will ensure the care and welfare of the children she is responsible for by enforcing operating policies, the rules & regulations as outline in the Policy & Procedure Manual.

Expectations:
-Monday to Friday with 1 weekend a month potentially.
-Always follow a strict code of Confidentiality.
-Adhere to agency policies and procedures.
-Maintain professional and ethical boundaries.
-Represent the Shelter in a positive manner.
-Participate in community awareness initiatives and training as directed by the Executive and/or Assistant Director.
-Participate in fundraising initiatives as directed.
-Work independently and in a team atmosphere, in accordance with the Shelters philosophy, mission, and goals.
-Assist Crisis Intervention staff when required.

Qualifications:
-Conduct and operate through a trauma-informed lens.
-Certification in First Aid/CPR and Behaviour Management.
-Knowledge of crisis intervention and management.
-Safe Food Handling Certification
-Knowledge of and training in interpersonal and sexual violence.  
-Certificate in Early Childhood Education would be considered an asset.
-Experience working with at-risk individuals would be considered an asset.
-Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
-Must be bondable.
-Valid and insurable Saskatchewan Drivers License.
-Demonstrate knowledge of and empathy for victims of interpersonal violence.  
-Must provide a clean criminal record check, vulnerable sector check, and child abuse index check.
-Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and values.
