Director of Information Technology & Enterprise SystemsFull-time, Continuing

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Operations, the Director of Information Technology & EnterpriseSystems provides strategic leadership and oversight for the University's technology function and enterprise

The Director is responsible for developing and implementing technology strategy; providing leadership for enterprise applications and digital transformation; overseeing IT operations, infrastructure and cybersecurity;and ensuring that technology investments, services and projects effectively support the University's academic,administrative and strategic priorities.

The position provides overall leadership for the University's enterprise applications, including Anthology andother institutional systems, ensuring effective integration, lifecycle management, user adoption and continuousimprovement. The Director works collaboratively with academic and administrative leaders to identifytechnology enabled opportunities to improve services, processes and institutional effectiveness.

The Director leads the Information Technology team through the IT Operations Manager and Business SystemsAnalyst – Enterprise Applications & Digital Transformation, providing clear accountability while maintaining anappropriate distinction between strategic technology leadership, enterprise systems management and day today IT operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain the University's technology strategy and multi year technology roadmap inalignment with institutional priorities.
• Provide strategic advice to the Vice President, Finance & Operations and senior leadership ontechnology opportunities, investments, risks and emerging trends.
• Establish priorities for the Information Technology function and ensure resources are aligned withinstitutional needs.
• Provide leadership for technology governance, standards, policies and decision-making frameworks.
• Monitor emerging technologies and assess their potential application within the University, including
• artificial intelligence, automation and digital services.
• Promote effective, responsible and innovative use of technology across the institution.
• Develop appropriate measures and reporting to monitor technology service performance, risks,
• projects and strategic priorities.

5. Technology Projects & Portfolio Management

• Work with the appropriate stakeholders to establish clear objectives, responsibilities, resourcerequirements, timelines and expected outcomes for technology projects.
• Assess competing technology initiatives and provide prioritization and investment recommendations to the Vice President, Finance & Operations.
• Monitor the status, budget, risks and outcomes of major technology initiatives and provide regular reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Operations and other stakeholders, as appropriate.
• Escalate significant project risks, resource constraints, budget pressures and decisions requiring
• Ensure completed technology projects transition effectively into sustainable operational ownership.

6. Vendor, Contract & Third-Party Management

• Provide leadership for technology vendor and strategic partner relationships.
• Oversee technology contracts, licensing arrangements, renewals and service level agreements.
• Lead or support significant technology contract negotiations and procurement activities.
• Monitor vendor performance, value, risk and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Evaluate third party technology solutions in consideration of institutional requirements,
• interoperability, security, cost and long-term sustainability.

7. Financial Management & Technology Investment Planning

• Develop and manage annual operating and capital technology budgets in alignment with institutionalpriorities.
• Develop multi year technology investment and lifecycle plans.
• Provide recommendations to the Vice President, Finance & Operations regarding technology
• investments and priorities.
• Monitor technology expenditures and ensure responsible stewardship of institutional resources.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, consolidation, licensing efficiencies and improved value
• from technology investments.
• Ensure technology procurement follows University policies, delegated authorities and procurement
• requirements.
• Provide leadership, direction and oversight for the Information Technology team.
• Develop, coach and support the retention of capable technology professionals.
• Establish clear roles, performance expectations and accountabilities within the team.
• Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture focused on accountability, innovation and continuous
• improvement.
• Develop succession and workforce plans for critical technology functions.
• Promote knowledge transfer, cross training and documentation to reduce dependency on individual
• employees.
• Build effective relationships between Information Technology and academic and administrative
• departments across the University.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation

• Required• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or another relevant discipline.
• Preferred• Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Relevant professional certification in areas such as IT governance, cybersecurity, projectmanagement, service management or enterprise technology.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, enterprisesystems or a related field, including significant leadership or management responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technology teams and developing staff.
• Experience developing and implementing technology strategy, roadmaps and organizational priorities.
• Significant experience with ERP and enterprise applications in a complex organizational environment.
• Experience overseeing major technology implementations, integrations, upgrades or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, SIS, finance, HR/payroll or related institutional
• applications.
• Experience managing technology vendors, contracts and third-party service providers.
• Experience developing and managing operating and capital technology budgets.
• Experience with cybersecurity, technology risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Experience establishing technology policies, standards, controls and governance practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Anthology or comparable enterprise platforms would be considered an asset.

Knowledge & Technical Understanding

• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, systems integration and application lifecyclemanagement.
• Sound understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, cloud technologies and modern technology servicedelivery.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technology risk and privacy requirements.
• Knowledge of technology governance, architecture, project and portfolio management, and vendor management.
• Understanding of digital transformation, business process improvement, workflow automation, data and analytics, and emerging technologies.
• Ability to translate complex technical matters into clear business implications, risks and recommendations for nontechnical audiences.
• Sufficient technical depth to provide credible leadership and oversight while effectively delegating detailed operational and system administration responsibilities to appropriate team members.
