The Opportunity

Valnet is seeking a highly analytical, solutions-oriented Functional Analyst to join our growing technology team.

In this role, you will serve as the key link between business stakeholders and our development teams. When challenges arise, you’ll be responsible for understanding the problem, identifying root causes, gathering requirements, and designing practical, scalable solutions that drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, transforming business challenges into practical technology solutions.
• Investigate problems, identify root causes, and design scalable processes, workflows, and system improvements.
• Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment throughout the development lifecycle.
• Partner with developers and technical leads to scope, design, test, and deliver high-impact solutions.
• Lead functional testing and UAT to ensure solutions meet business needs and quality expectations.
• Own project prioritization and help drive execution across multiple initiatives.
• Create clear documentation and act as a trusted expert on internal systems and processes.
• Communicate effectively across technical and business teams to ensure projects stay aligned, on track, and focused on outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Relevant experience within a web-based, digital media, SaaS, or technology-driven environment is considered a strong asset.
• Proven ability to analyze business problems and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to organize complex information clearly.
• Experience gathering and documenting functional requirements, workflows, and business processes.
• Familiarity with web applications, software development lifecycles, and Agile methodologies.
• Experience working closely with developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable challenging assumptions, asking the right questions, and driving solutions forward.
