The Opportunity

Position: Casual Custodian

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (Shifts available Monday to Friday & on weekends), shifts are as early as 6:30am until 3:00pm or 3:00pm until 11:30pm

Salary: $25.29 per hour + 4% vacation pay

Reports to: Manager, Facilities

Location: Opportunities will be distributed between our 40 schools

Summary of Accountabilities

• Custodial work, cleaning, and care of public schools, primarily during the evening shift and/or weekend rentals
• Work involves maintaining assigned premises in a clean and orderly condition
• Duties include:
  • Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing floors
  • Waxing and polishing floors and furniture
  • Cleaning washrooms and replacing washroom supplies
  • Cleaning windows, lights, diffusers, and walls
• Work also involved shoveling snow, removing ice from school entrances, maintaining school grounds, mowing lawns and generally assuring the security of school premises while they are not in use
• Other duties are required

​Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED)
• Proven ability to organize and carry out assigned custodial duties
• Ability to cordially work with the public and school staff
• Good physical condition is required
• Must be able to provide own safety boots
• Preferably with a valid class 5 driver's license issued by the Province of New Brunswick and own use of transportation.
