Director Services Innovation Portfolio

Lead Services innovation at Ciena by shaping strategy, portfolios, experimentation, and governance for high-speed connectivity solutions. Direct complex initiatives globally.This director role creates the operating system for Services innovation and leads special projects sponsored by Services leadership. You will guide innovation PLMs and cross-functional contributors through intake, prioritization, funding, prototyping, customer validation, and commercialization. The work connects Services strategy, technology direction, and growth objectives.Key Responsibilities:
Develop Services innovation strategy, priorities, and portfolio directionEstablish innovation pipelines, decision forums, and governanceOversee market, customer, feasibility, investment, and risk evaluationDirect prototypes, pilots, evidence development, and commercialization decisionsLead special projects, executive reporting, and ownership transitionsRequirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experienceSignificant leadership experience in services, innovation, or portfolio managementExperience leading teams and complex cross-functional programsStrong business-case, investment, commercial, and financial skillsExecutive presence influencing across organizational boundariesGuide Ciena's Services innovation funnel through portfolio leadership, customer validation, financial discipline, and strategic commercialization decisions.
