Human Resources Assistant Full-time Permanent Position
Division Office - Nisku, AB
Black Gold School Division is seeking a Human Resources Assistant. Reporting to the Human Resources Coordinator, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the administrative functions related to the operational support of the Human Resources department. This includes fielding general HR inquires, liaising with internal and external contacts, information tracking/records management and assisting with recruitment activities. Due to the confidential aspect of work, considerable discretion and judgment is required.
Responsibilities:
- Processes staff applications
- Coordinates recruitment activities by assisting with the preparation and distribution of internal and external postings, arranging interviews, preparing offer letters and ensuring new employees complete the induction process
- Represents the organization professionally through the use of superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Professionally manages the requirement to maintain confidentiality
- Maintains Human Resources records
- Prepares monthly board submissions
- Performs data base entry into the HRIS system
- Acts as a back up to the Secretary, Substitute Services
- Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Completion of a related post-secondary certificate or diploma program would be an asset. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a program in Human Resources
- Experience providing administrative support, preferably in Human Resources
- Ability to work effectively and professionally in a team environment, ensuring complete accuracy, under tight deadlines and with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills with a high proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of a Human Resources related information system would be an asset
