Position: Healthcare Security Guard Part-Time - Hotel Dieu Hospital Access Control

Site: Hotel Dieu Hospital- 166 Brock St

Hours: Week 1 Sat 0730-1530, Sun 1530-2330 - Week 2 Sat 1530-2330, Sun 0730-1530

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement after 88 hours

Pay Rate: $22.61/hour

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and visible security presence
• Greet, assist, and direct patients, visitors, and staff
• Protect clients, staff, buildings, and assets
• Work independently and collaboratively
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols
• Respond to emergencies and support code responses
• Document and report incidents; conduct investigations as required
• Perform patient watches and enforce hospital policies/by-laws
• Manage access control, keys, and parking enforcement
• Assist with monthly safety inspections and other assigned duties

Job Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 mask fit testing
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum two doses)
• Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, and TB (Step 1 & 2)
• How to obtain records: 
• Immunization Form: KHSC Immunization Forms
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (completed during onboarding)
• Minimum 6 months of security experience (healthcare preferred but not required)
• Full-time availability with a minimum 6-month commitment
• Strong English communication skills (oral/written)
• Minimum 6 months customer service experience preferred
• Must provide Stay Safe certifications
• • Applicants without these may complete Paladin’s Stay Safe program prior to onboarding
  • Training is unpaid as it is a prerequisite; Paladin covers all costs with a 6-month commitment
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Certification Requirements (All)

First Aid, CPR Level C
Immunization Record for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella and two step TB skin test
Valid Ontario Security License
