Centre of Health Excellence - Patient Care Coordinator (Casual)

Our  Patient Care Coordinator  plays an important role in creating an efficient, welcoming, and professional experience for our patients. Working closely with physicians and clinical team members, the Patient Care Coordinator helps prepare patients for their appointments, gathers and documents important information, supports patient education, and helps ensure the clinic operates smoothly. 

This is a  casual position with a primary focus on Sunday shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. , with the potential for additional shifts and opportunities as the clinic continues to grow.

What you will be doing 

• Welcoming patients and helping create a friendly, professional, and positive patient experience. 
• Reviewing and documenting patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) using established scripts, formats, and clinic protocols. 
• Documenting current patient concerns, medications, allergies, and other relevant information. 
• Providing patients with information and education regarding clinic processes and protocols. 
• Identifying uninsured services, explaining applicable fees to patients, and processing payments as required. 
• Processing patient billings and payments accurately. 
• Supporting patient flow and helping ensure patients move efficiently through their clinic experience. 
• Completing administrative and Med Access EMR tasks as needed. 
• Performing other duties as required to support the successful operation of the clinic. 

What you will bring 

• Previous experience in a medical clinic, medical office, health care setting, or patient/customer service environment 
• A friendly, personable, and professional approach 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately document patient information. 
• Confidence using computers and software 
• The ability to follow established clinic protocols 
• Experience with TELUS Med Access EMR is considered an asset. 
• Availability to work  Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. , with the opportunity for additional shifts as the clinic continues to grow.
