Summer Events & Marketing Assistant

Alberta Dreams is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Events & Marketing Assistant to support a wide range of summer programming, fundraising events, community outreach initiatives, and marketing activities.

• This role is ideal for a motivated individual who enjoys both creative and hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about community engagement. The successful candidate will assist with event execution, digital marketing, social media management, administrative support, and public-facing activities that advance Alberta Dreams’ mission.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Event Coordination & Execution

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing summer fundraising events, festivals, and community activations.
• Support logistics including venue preparation, décor, signage, registration, vendor coordination, and participant engagement.
• Assist with event setup, tear down, transportation of materials, and on-site operations.
• Help coordinate volunteers and ensure a positive participant experience.

Marketing & Digital Communications

• Create engaging content for Alberta Dreams’ social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
• Support the development and scheduling of digital marketing campaigns to promote events, fundraising initiatives, and organizational awareness.
• Capture photos, videos, and testimonials during events to support storytelling and donor engagement.
• Monitor social media engagement and respond to online inquiries and comments in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist in updating website content, event listings, and digital promotional materials.

Administrative & Technology Support

• Provide administrative support including filing, data entry, donor communications, and maintaining event records.
• Utilize CRM and donor databases to track engagement, registrations, sponsorships, and volunteer participation.
• Support email marketing efforts and maintain contact lists using digital platforms.
• Assist with reporting metrics related to event participation, social media engagement, and campaign performance.

Community Engagement

• Represent Alberta Dreams at events, community functions, and public engagement opportunities.
• Share information about Alberta Dreams’ mission, programs, and impact with community members, sponsors, and volunteers.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with partners, donors, and attendees.

Qualifications

• Passion for the mission and values of Alberta Dreams.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with social media platforms and digital content creation tools such as Canva or similar platforms.
• Comfort using technology including donor databases, email marketing tools, spreadsheets, and event registration platforms.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Previous experience in event planning, marketing, fundraising, or customer service is considered an asset.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during events.
• Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract required.
