About this role

Faire's Ads team helps brands succeed by putting them in charge of their own growth. We own the brand-facing side of the Ads business: the ads manager, campaign setup, performance reporting, budget retention and expansion, and the trust that keeps advertisers investing with us.

As a product engineer on the team, you'll own features end-to-end: dig into the advertiser's problem, weigh the options, ship, and measure whether it worked. You'll partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and our Go-to-Market team to shape what we build, not just how it gets built.

This is an ideal role for engineers who combine strong product intuition with genuine excitement about AI. You'll go deep on how ads work in a wholesale marketplace, where the advertisers are independent brands and the buyers are the retailers who stock them.

What you'll do

• Product ownership: Take advertiser-facing features from problem to launch, including ads manager workflows, campaign controls, and performance reporting.

• Product judgment: Partner closely with Product, Design, Data Science, Analytics, and Marketing to identify business opportunities and execute on them. Bring customer empathy for brand advertisers, a clear point of view, and a bias for delivering over waiting for a perfect spec.

• Technical craft: Build scalable systems and product experiences that stay fast and reliable as our advertiser base grows, and contribute to the technical strategy that gets us there.

• AI fluency: Use AI tooling as a core part of how you deliver impact, from prototyping and coding to reviewing and exploring ideas faster.

• Data fluency: Instrument what you ship, then use the data to understand advertiser behavior, evaluate experiment results, and guide where we invest next.

Qualifications

Must-haves

• 2+ years of full-time software engineering experience shipping product in a production environment.

• Strong product judgment and customer empathy. You think about what to build, not just how, and you've shipped features you can explain in terms of who used them and what changed.

• Has integrated AI tools into your regular engineering workflow; we want to see that AI has become part of how you work, not just something you've tried.

• Background in at least one of: ads / ad tech, large analytics or measurement products, or data engineering (pipelines, ETL, warehousing).

• Able to thrive in a high-pace product environment; a clear communicator who works effectively with PMs, designers, data scientists and our Go-to-Market team.

Preferred

• Experience with ads manager, campaign management, or other advertiser-facing tools.

• More than one of the domain backgrounds above (ads + analytics, analytics + data engineering, etc.).

• Hands-on frontend experience with React or similar.

• Experience with experimentation or customer-facing reporting.

Salary range

Canada: the pay range for this role is $129,500 - $178,000 per year. 

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
