Financial Operations Administrator

Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with exceptional multitasking and interpersonal skills to join our dynamic team, as a Financial Operations Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

The Financial Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role within the the CanCap Group Operations team. The candidate will report directly to the Financial Operations Supervisor and will be responsible for various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial management and reporting. The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Bank Reconciliations: Prepare daily reconciliations to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, and discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
• Quarterly and Year-End Financial Reports: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial reports, providing reliable financial data to support decision-making and regulatory requirements.
• Data Reconciliation: Compile and analyze data at both LP (Limited Partner) and customer levels to reconcile transactions and resolve any discrepancies that arise.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations Teams to ensure seamless coordination and understanding of financial data and operations.
• Month-End Accounting Support: Assist with full-cycle month-end accounting activities, including posting journal entries, reconciling key balance sheet and income statement accounts, and investigating any variances.
• Support Annual Audits as required.
• Process Improvement: Document accounting processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness.
• Undertake other projects, duties, and tasks assigned from time to time to support the financial operations of the company.

What you bring:

• Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant work experience in the financial services field
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
• Enhanced critical thinking skills, a highly analytical approach, and a deeply solution-oriented mindset.
• Post-secondary education with a specialization in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience with Sage 300 ERP or Shaw Retail an asset
• Pride in achieving a high degree of accuracy within a fast-paced environment.
