IBM i Programmer

Job Responsibility:

Looking for IBM i Developer. SYNON Skill is a plus point. Contract position. REMOTE

Duties and responsibilities

? Provides project leadership, analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation,

training and maintenance

? Provides assistance to the IT services group to solve program or other IT related

problems.

? Participates in the design, planning and implementation of technology to support

companywide IT initiatives.

? Other related duties as required

Preferred Education and Experience

? University degree or College degree in computer related discipline. Must have at

least 10 years of development experience in a business environment with 5 years

of experience in business applications performing database management,

programming, or data analysis.

? 10+ years of development experience on an IBM System i.

? Expertise with RPG, RPG/ILE, Synon 2E. SQL/400, Stored Procedures and

Query is required.

Preferred Education and Experience

? University degree or College degree in computer related discipline. Must have at

least 10 years of development experience in a business environment with 10 years

of experience in business applications performing database management,

programming, or data analysis.

? 10+ years of development experience on an IBM System i.

? Expertise with RPG, RPG/ILE, Synon 2E. SQL/400, Stored Procedures and

Query is required.

? Investigates and resolves a wide range of issues, which may be highly complex

and/or sensitive in nature. Analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth

evaluation of variable factors. Identification of patterns and trends, or multiple

causal relationships. Conducts additional research as required.

Communication

? Provides technical information and develops logical arguments to explain a

position or provide direction to resolve problems. Requires proactive questions to

obtain relevant information to clarify issues and reach agreement

Material Resources

? Responsibility to use, respect and care for materials of limited value used in day-

to-day work. (computers, copiers, etc.)

Relationship Management

? Builds stable working relationships internally with other departments or

transactional contact with the customer. May deal with routine inquiries, requests,

complaints and recommendations, difficult situations may be referred to a higher

level

Decisions Making

? Makes and implements decisions in ambiguous situations, where information is

incomplete, but sufficient to exercise sound judgment. Uses full range of

experience, knowledge, and formal research to develop and assess alternative,

creative solutions. Breaks complex problems down into manageable

components, recognizes several likely courses of events and consequences of

actions. Anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead to provide innovative solutions.

Physical Effort

? Physical effort required is low intensity, less than 2 hours per day. Office

environments.

Mental Effort

? Mental effort required is high intensity for more than 4 hours per day.

Working Conditions

? Work involves no exposure to disagreeable elements, no risk of injury, harm or

illness. Office environment.
