The Role

As a Large Press Operator (Forms), you will be responsible for accurately printing business forms and other products to high quality standards. You will be setting up a 4 to 6 colour press with U.V. driers using various inks and substrates, running the press at maximum speed, while generating minimal waste.

This is an onsite role working a 2 week rotational shift between day shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) and afternoon shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.).

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret order requirements on production docket and set up press as required, ensuring to follow docket instructions
• Mount and register plates, perforators, slitters, hole punchers, numbering and designation units, ink offset units, and die units
• Determine color sequence, fill ink trays and/or pumps, monitor and maintain viscosity of inks
• Run the press to the maximum speed possible as determined by the job complexity and quality expectations on roll to roll, fanfold, sheeted products
• Troubleshoot problems such as poor registration, quality, ink and solutions, roller settings and wear, plate problems and minor mechanical breakdowns
• Provide training to junior members of the team
• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experiences

• Completion of High School diploma or equivalent certificate
• Proven experience and product knowledge in lithographic print products and presses
• Experience of roll-to-roll printing and operation of roll-to-roll procedures is an asset
• Previous experience running Sanden, Ashton, Taiyo and Goebel presses is a strong plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Basic mathematic skills
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs

Compensation

$29.57 - $36.96 CAD per hour

The compensation range listed reflects the expected compensation for the role. Actual compensation will be determined based on individual skills and experience.
