Infrastructure Support Engineer

The successful candidate is passionate about delivering a best-in-class end user experience, putting into practice not only an in-depth advanced level of end user technical support expertise but also a broad range of knowledge of networks, infrastructure, meeting room technologies, and will be responsible for supporting all of our IT infrastructure operations. This position requires strong technical expertise, self-motivation and organizational skills in order to ensure alignment with and execution of the organization's IT Roadmap goals and objectives. We currently provide support for two distinct environments: Azure and a private cloud. However, there are plans underway to migrate entirely to Azure within the next year. Therefore, proficiency in Azure and related trainings are essential.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Planning, implementing, and maintaining a highly-virtualized production environment, with a strong focus on Azure Infrastructure. Aid in the analysis of business needs to recommend innovative technology solutions, with an emphasis on Azure, while actively participating in firm-wide IT and business initiatives.
• Perform system upgrades in collaboration with the Enterprise technology team and external service providers as needed, particularly those involving Azure services.
• Manage capacity and performance of the platform, with a specific focus on Azure resources, ensuring the integrity of the infrastructure.
• Proactively monitor the health of critical business systems and technologies, with a specific emphasis on Azure resources.
• Participation during monthly maintenance activities, including patching, etc.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop infrastructure solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Leading infrastructure initiatives from inception to completion, including defining initiative scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Conducting technology assessments and providing recommendations for infrastructure improvements and enhancements.
• Maintain infrastructure standards documentation as it relates to infrastructure systems design, configuration, support, and processes, with a particular emphasis on Azure best practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Remain current with emerging trends in technology, particularly in the Azure ecosystem.
• Help to troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues, providing technical guidance and support to the operations and engineering teams.
• Help to ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities are monitored and operational
• Other duties may be assigned, as required.

Skills and Qualifications: o Knowledge Requirements:

• Extensive experience in infrastructure operations.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and containerization technologies.
• Proficiency in managing virtualized environments using technologies like VMware, AKS, and Docker.
• Good working knowledge of networking, storage, and server technologies, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, SAN/NAS, and blade/server hardware.
• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) solutions and enterprise security best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex infrastructure challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

o Other:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or minimum 5 years' equivalent work experience.
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, and/or Azure Administor Associate are preferred.
• Experience with incident and change management systems
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
• Are experienced and knowledgeable in information technology information library (ITIL) and or COBIT methodologies
• Financial services or FinTech industry experience is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $72,000 - $85,000/yr
