Lead Software Engineer for Search Platform

Become a Lead Software Engineer for Course Hero's Search Platform, innovating search experiences that support millions of learners. This role focuses on developing impactful, student-facing search and recommendations. As a senior engineer on the Platform team, your primary challenge will be to design, implement, and maintain high-volume search systems. You will work extensively with search engine technologies like Elasticsearch while ensuring that our platform supports rapid growth and varying user intents. This role calls for collaborative efforts across multiple teams, including UX and machine learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize Course Hero's Search components
- Apply innovative search techniques and algorithms
- Enhance system architecture to handle increased user traffic
- Work alongside product and UX designers for roadmap execution
- Maintain high reliability and performance standards
- 5+ years of experience with search algorithms
- Proficient in Python, Go, and Java programming
- Experience with distributed systems and search engine tools
- Strong knowledge of microservices SOA architecture
- BA or BS in Computer Science or related field
