Key Responsibilities: 

• Conduct regular patrols of the property (interior and exterior), including parking areas, entrances, and common spaces, to ensure safety and identify any security risks or hazards 
• Monitor and control access to the building by verifying IDs, managing visitor/vendor entry, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas 
• Observe site activity and monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect suspicious behavior or incidents 
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, emergencies, or disturbances, and escalate to emergency services or management when required. 
• Maintain a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other unauthorized activities. 
• Provide customer service support by assisting tenants, employees, and visitors with directions, inquiries, and general site support. 
• Enforce property rules, safety procedures, and company policies to maintain order and a secure environment. 
• Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, first aid response, and coordination with first responders when required. 
• Conduct routine inspections of doors, locks, gates, and lighting to ensure the property is secure and report maintenance or safety concerns. 
• Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client. 

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification (WSIB-approved provider)
• Valid Class G Driver's Licence with a clean Driver's Abstract
• Minimum 1 year of security experience required
• 1–2 years of dispatching experience or related experience considered an asset
• Previous mall security or retail security experience considered an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail
• Strong observational and report-writing skills
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
