Overview

Position Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the dealership’s vehicle sales team and ensuring the achievement of sales volume, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals. This role supports daily showroom operations, develops sales staff, manages inventory and merchandising, and ensures consistent execution of the dealership’s sales processes. The Sales Manager works closely with senior leadership and other department managers to deliver a seamless and customer focused experience.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed sales and customer service targets.
• Oversee day-to-day sales floor operations, including customer engagement, deal support, and process management.
• Support inventory management, including vehicle selection, pricing, merchandising, and alignment with OEM programs.
• Ensure strong CRM utilization, lead follow-up, and adherence to the dealership’s sales processes.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing sales staff, ensuring continuous growth and performance improvement.
• Review sales metrics and performance reports to identify opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the Finance & Insurance team to support seamless deal flow and maximize profitability.
• Help resolve customer concerns and maintain a positive, customer-centric environment.
• Coordinate with marketing to execute promotions, campaigns, and traffic driving activities.
• Ensure compliance with dealership policies, regulatory guidelines, and OEM standards.
• All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in automotive sales, with a strong understanding of dealership sales operations; prior leadership experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities with the ability to build and maintain a high performing team.
• Knowledge of vehicle sales processes, inventory management, and CRM best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales KPIs and identify improvement opportunities.
• Proficiency with dealership CRM and DMS platforms.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
