Job Responsibility:

Job Title: Golf Course & Driving Range Summer Student

Job Summary: The Golf Course & Driving Range Summer Student will assist in the daily operations of a busy golf course and driving range. This position offers a unique opportunity for students with an interest in golf, customer service, and outdoor activities to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality and recreation industry. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, responsible, and capable of performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the facility during the summer season.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Customer Service Support:
• Greet and assist golfers and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide information about course conditions, and available services.
• Assist with providing guidance on course etiquette.
• Driving Range Assistance:
• Monitor and maintain the driving range, ensuring all areas are clean and organized.
• Refill and retrieve golf balls from the range and ensure balls are in good condition.
• Assist customers with golf club rentals, ensuring they have the correct equipment.
• Course Maintenance:
• Help with the daily upkeep of the golf course, mowing greens, running sprinkler systems and other maintenance tasks.
• Ensure the course is kept clean, including emptying trash bins and picking up debris.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
• Pro Shop & Retail Support:
• Assist in the pro shop with inventory management, stocking shelves, and displaying merchandise.
• Process transactions, including sales of golf equipment, range balls, and accessories.
• Help maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
• Event & Tournament Assistance:
• Help set up and organize for special events and tournaments, ensuring all logistics are in place.
• Assist in managing registrations, providing support to participants, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work alongside fellow team members to ensure all duties are completed efficiently and on time.
• Communicate with supervisors to address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and maintain a strong work ethic throughout the season.

Qualifications:

• Must be a current student (preferably in high school or college).
• Basic knowledge of golf and golfing equipment is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with guests in a professional manner.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong attention to detail.

Additional Information:

• This is a seasonal, part-time position with hours varying depending on peak/slow season and weather typically running from April to October

Job Type: SeasonalContract length: 7 months

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
