Java Developer
Build the backend systems that power critical financial services operations. In this client-facing role, you’ll create secure, scalable applications and integrations that support high-volume transaction processing while collaborating with technical and business partners to deliver production-ready solutions.
Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Java Developer supporting financial services clients. You’ll partner with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and client stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure enterprise solutions.
Start Date: ASAP Duration : 6 months with possibility of extension
Location : Hybrid 3 days onsite in New York City
Pay Rate : $50 -54/ hr
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust server-side applications using Java 11+ and Spring Boot .
- Build and consume secure, documented, and versioned RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices.
- Develop asynchronous, high-throughput integrations using platforms such as Apache Kafka and Apache Spark.
- Design and optimize data-access layers with Hibernate/JPA and SQL against relational databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
- Participate in peer code reviews and apply clean-code and SOLID design principles.
- Contribute to automated build and deployment pipelines using Maven or Gradle, Jenkins, Git, and Docker.
- Profile and tune application performance while applying secure coding practices aligned with enterprise security and regulatory standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, track work in Jira , and collaborate across teams to support timely delivery and defect resolution.
Qualifications
- Advanced Java development experience, including Java 11+ .
- Advanced experience developing with Spring Boot and microservices.
- Experience building server-side applications and RESTful APIs.
- Ability to write unit and integration tests and contribute effectively to code reviews.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Hibernate/JPA, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Jenkins, Docker, Maven, Gradle, Git, Jira, and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Experience supporting high-throughput financial data flows or transaction-processing platforms.
