Croissant Team Lead

Job Responsibility:

Circles & Squares Bakery Cafe East York is looking for a Croissant Team Lead to join our team!

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing business and one of Toronto's most iconic bakeries. We are looking for a dedicated leader to oversee our croissant and laminated pastry production, ensuring high-quality products and a well-organized, efficient team.

About the Role:

The Croissant Team Lead will be responsible for managing daily production, maintaining product quality, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. This role requires someone who is passionate about baking, detail-oriented, and able to lead by example in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily lamination production, ensuring consistency and excellence in all products.
• Lead and train a team, providing clear guidance and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Manage inventory, ingredient usage, and ordering to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
• Monitor labour hours to ensure we are operating as effectively as possible
• Identify and report any faulty equipment to the Production Manager to prevent disruptions.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following best practices for efficiency and safety.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 3+ years of baking experience, with a strong background in laminated dough production.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and guide a team.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-volume production setting.
• Strong understanding of bakery techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to excellence.
