JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY :

The clinical resource nurse participates in the coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care delivery to a psychiatric clientele in order to provide therapeutically competent, ethical and safe care.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Registered with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNNB);
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
• Three years' experience in psychiatric nursing care;
• Certificate in psychiatric nursing / mental health (CNA) would be an asset ;
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certificate;
• Good knowledge of the following computer applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Training in non-violent crisis intervention or commitment to take such training within set timelines;
• Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviours in a Psychiatric Hospital Setting or commitment to take such training within set timelines;
• Ability to manage stressful situations and to set priorities;
• Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions and resolve conflicts;
• Proven leadership skills;
• Initiative and sound judgment;
• Ability to teach and transmit knowledge to others;
• Individual or group facilitation skills;
• Ability to act as a change agent;
• Ability to work independently and as a team member;
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
• Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
• Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
• Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
