Human Resources Business Partner

Your main responsibilities

HR Business Partner works with business leaders to support significant people and cultural issues by providing expertise in technical and regulatory aspects of employment including hiring, termination, and union relations. Enables business change by supporting the talent aspects of organization structure changes. Acts as HR Program advocacy, communicating the business value of HR initiatives, managing HR program roll out to minimize business disruption, etc. Partners with the business and talent management/staffing and recruiting colleagues on key talent initiatives such as workforce planning, hi-potential employee development, succession planning, etc.

Responsibilities

Recruitment and Selection

• Provide direction and assistance for recruitment activities throughout the organization
• Consult with Managers to determine job requirements and select appropriate personnel
• Lead talent acquisition initiatives including the Schindler Career Development Program (SCDP), and Top Talent selection
• Familiarity with ATS platforms and recruitment techonoligies .

Performance Management, Training and Development

• Support all activities related to people development and ensure their successful execution
• Support various initiatives that support employee engagement, including the Schindler Employee Engagement Survey (SEES), performance management, training, and recognition programs
• Support the performance management program and annual review process, and ensure all salaried personnel have annual Performance and Development Reviews (PDR) completed
• Support the Identification of employee development needs and training plans
• Develop, communicate and train employees on employment policies, procedures and programs

Employee and Labour Relations

• Serve as an employee advocate within the leadership team to ensure appropriate consideration is given to employee issues to enable maximum business results

• Support the development and maintain effective employee/labour relations in a professional, consistent and fair manner
• Coach and advise management on the appropriate resolution to employee/labour relations issues
• Support role in assuring compliance with the collective bargaining agreements, and other labour issues involving field employees

Compensation and Benefits

• Administer salary, incentive and benefit programs to ensure compliance and equity within organization
• Support with annual incentive, salary planning and review process
• Administer employee benefits programs

Policies, Procedures and Compliance

• Monitor employment and labour legislation, and make recommendations to ensure organizational compliance
• A Strong innovation mindset with curiosity to challenge the status quo, embrace digital solutions and continuously improve ways of working
• Partner with Managers to interpret and implement HR policies, practices, and procedures
• Serve as Privacy Officer by ensuring appropriate measures are taken for the protection of employee and customer personal information

What you bring

Knowledge

(Education and Work Experience)

• Post secondary education in Human Resources field or equivalent experience
• A minimum of six (6) years in a Human Resources role, with at least three (3) years as HRBP, preferably from a sales, service or construction industry
• Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) accreditation considered an asset

• Proficient in MS Office

• People Management: Ability to select, train, supervise and evaluate staff
• Presentation: Ability to present materials clearly and engage audience
• Problem Solving: Information seeking and achievement orientation, ability to solve problems both independently and collaboratively  
• Teamwork: Ability to interact with all levels and be an integral part of the operation
• Sensitive Material Handling/ Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain objective while working with sensitive and confidential materials
• Strategy: Demonstrate the ability to take the role to that of a Strategic partner with the organization

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $95,000 CAD.

Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, skills, and market conditions, as well as internal equity considerations, in alignment with our overall compensation practices.

This range represents base salary only and does not include bonus, incentive compensation, or benefits. Eligible employees may participate in discretionary incentive programs based on individual and company performance. A comprehensive benefits package is offered to eligible employees.

We are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices. The salary range disclosed reflects our good-faith estimate of base pay at the time of posting.
