Director of Business Control and Finance

Currently, we have an opening for the Director of Business Control and Finance. In this role, you are responsible for leading and driving integrated outcomes across Business Control and Finance teams. As a key member of the Sales Area Canada Management Team, you will be responsible for monitoring the financial performance of the business, playing an integral role supporting all business units in the execution of key business improvement and growth strategies in alignment with the Sales Area Strategic Plans. Other key responsibilities include:

• Leading and inspiring a diverse team, emphasizing the importance of people-focused leadership, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, and driving the team to consistently achieve and surpass organizational goals through effective guidance and motivation.
• Overseeing and being held accountable for the financial controls, reporting, integrity of numbers, month end, budgets, financial support and commercial analysis provided to the support businesses.
• Providing high level support, research and advice to the management team on matters such as financial resource management, facility/property leases and business systems and platforms.
• Overseeing the integration and delivery of digital strategies in conjunction with business unit teams.
• Be a change leader and enable the support of the necessary activities as we work through our SAP S/4 HANA implementation journey.
• Taking an active part in decisions affecting the business by setting clear and challenging financial targets and conducting continuous follow-up of performance.
• Communicating relevant financial analysis to various stakeholders to clarify financial implications of possible business decisions, suggesting improvements and highlighting new opportunities.
• Overseeing all tax affairs of Sales Area Canada and supporting the company's business and financial objectives by ensuring the company maintains a fully compliant tax position at all times.
• Ensuring compliance and execution of Internal Control and Internal Audit activities.
• Consolidation and reporting of the Sales Area organisation for actual, forecast and target results
• Ensuring global compliance with accounting standards and guidelines across the frontline operations.
• Ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and Procedures.

Your profile The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven management experience working across multiple corporate service functions and demonstrable commercial and finance expertise.
• 10 - 15 years of Financial and Business Control management within the mining and or construction industry.
• Strategic planning, compliance and operational experience.

You must have the demonstrative ability to provide professional judgement in complex financial matters and strong focus on business efficiency and effectiveness.
