Job Responsibility:
Financial Data Analyst BW Retail - New Dundee We are seeking a data-driven Financial Data Analyst to help us unlock insights hidden within our financial and logistics data. This person will play a critical role in analyzing key expense areasincluding outbound shipping, return shipping, advertising spendto identify inefficiencies, cost drivers, and opportunities for improvement. The role will work closely with finance, operations, and logistics teams to develop actionable insights that drive profitability and cost savings. What You'll Be Doing - Shipping Cost Analysis:
- Investigate discrepancies between estimated and actual outbound freight costs.
- Identify root causes of variances (e.g., incorrect warehouse inputs, overcharges, hidden admin fees).
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimize freight spend.
- Return Shipping Analysis:
- Analyze shipping costs for returned items at the SKU level across multiple marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc.).
- Consolidate and interpret return shipping data to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Inbound Freight & Tariff Impact Analysis:
- Assess inbound freight costs and their impact on SKU profitability.
- Analyze the financial impact of tariffs at a SKU level to improve cost allocation and pricing strategies.
- Operational Cost & Profitability Analysis:
- Identify direct costs that impact SKU profitability (currently categorized under overhead expenses).
- Analyze costing data, including advertising spend costs across multiple marketplaces
- Work with finance and logistics teams to develop more accurate cost allocation methods.
- Develop dashboards and reports to monitor cost trends and inefficiencies.
- Assist in ad-hoc data related projects
What We'll Need from You - 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, operations analysis, or a related role.
- Strong data analysis skillsexperience with Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools preferred.
- Ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Experience in e-commerce, logistics, supply chain, or finance is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex data findings in a clear, actionable manner.
- Detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset with a passion for driving efficiency.
