Health and Safety Manager

AGT Foods is looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join our Regina Head Office - Canada Corporate Safety Team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Manage the implementation of Safety Programs and ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are met.
Provide safety leadership to all safety reps, committees, management and employees and other affected groups in the implementation of safety programs.
Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, or near-misses.
Research and make recommendations for fostering safety culture.
Perform routine inspections and audits of workplaces in Canada.
Evaluate practices, procedures, equipment and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law  propose budget allocations to locations/equipment based on safety risk.
Create and present safety communications that foster an awareness of health and safety practices (bulletins, webinars, events, summits and meetings).
Prepare safety analytics (KPIs, Occurrence Stats etc).
Any other duties required from time to time or as requested by management to help foster safety culture and compliance within the company.

Skills and abilities - The successful candidate must have:

Industry credentials such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety (OHST) preferred.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on safety management experience.
Competency in identifying risk and conducting risk-based decision making.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to affect positive behavior in others.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to travel within Canada (Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta).
Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
