THE POSITION?
- Be an advocate for students and their needs.
- Uphold strict privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with teachers, staff, students and parents.
- Collaborate with teachers to facilitate the participation of all students in classroom activities.
- Provide support to the student individually (1:1) or in small groups.
- Assist in adapting situations, environment, materials and activities so the student can be successful.
- Implement IEP goals, planned strategies and activities for the student.
- Assist in developing and implementing a behavior support plan when necessary.
- Keep anecdotal records, work samples etc. to document student progress and history.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education Assistant Certificate (or equivalent)
- Experience and/or further training in supporting students with autism or FASD, personal care needs, or other learning differences. Evidence of a strong sense of purpose and identity built on Biblical principles and participation in a local Christian church community.
