Intermediate Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Full-time State/Province: British Columbia Business Group: DCS Business Line: Water Work Location Model: Hybrid Primary Location: CA - Burnaby, BC - 3292 Production W Compensation: CAD 90,000 - CAD 130,000 - yearly We are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for a full‑time position supporting our municipal water infrastructure team, based in Burnaby, BC. Responsibilities Deliver EI&C engineering for municipal infrastructure projects across Western Canada, working independently and in coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Design and develop electrical systems and documentation, including power distribution, grounding, lighting, cable systems, drives, standby power, and low‑voltage systems (fire alarm, telecom, security). Specify process instrumentation and control systems for municipal and industrial applications. Provide electrical discipline leadership on small to mid‑sized projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and sound engineering practices. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, technical leads, and designers to coordinate deliverables and support overall project execution. Ensure quality and consistency of deliverables through adherence to AECOM standards, QA/QC procedures, and client requirements. Support and mentor junior team members, coordinating workloads and contributing to efficient project delivery. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized/accredited post‑secondary institution. 4+ years of related industry and engineering design experience in a multi‑disciplinary electrical, instrumentation & control environment. Registered Professional in Canada (EGBC preferred). Applicable experience in electrical design and commissioning, preferably encompassing electrical distribution systems and DCS or PLC control systems, motor control and variable speed drives, and instrumentation & control systems for municipal or light industrial environment. Preferred qualifications Experience related to water/wastewater (e.g., treatment plants) ideally with municipal projects; industrial experience in electrical power distribution is also considered. Perform electrical system studies and calculations; proficient with AGi32, EasyPower/ETAP; other design tools (REVIT MEP) desirable. Proven track record in design and production of tender documents such as P&IDs, single line diagrams, control and communication system diagrams, electrical and instrument location drawings, loop & schematic wiring diagrams; developing equipment load schedules, cable & tray calculations, instrumentation lists and specifications sheets, standard details, contract specifications, electrical studies and reports. Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code, IEEE, and experience in building (fire alarm and communication) systems. Proficient with AutoCAD and/or other design tools (AutoCAD P&IDs/Electrical, REVIT MEP). Prior experience on tendering, construction service, start‑up and commissioning, site supervision and field inspection. Excellent written and oral communication skills; proven interpersonal skills, self‑motivated, results‑oriented, ability to work independently and be flexible to perform work under tight schedules in a fast‑paced integrated multi‑disciplinary team environment.
