Une carrière dans les Forces armées canadiennes (FAC) en tant qu'opérateur·trice de contrôle aérospatial vous permet d'utiliser les systèmes de radar, informatiques, de communication et de capteur pour la surveillance et le contrôle de l'espace aérien.
Ce poste est offert à temps plein ou à temps partiel.

Aperçu
Les opérateur·trice·s de contrôle aérospatial contrôlent et coordonnent les mouvements du trafic militaire et civil dans les aérodromes et les unités tactiques des FAC en assumant les responsabilités suivantes :
Utiliser des systèmes de commandement et de contrôle
Donner des instructions de contrôle au sol aux aéronefs et aux véhicules et des messages d'information en vol aux aéronefs
Recevoir, transmettre et enregistrer les renseignements contenus dans les plans de vol
Interpréter les rapports météorologiques
Tenir les dossiers à jour
Intervenir en cas d'urgence

Ce poste s'apparente aux métiers suivants :
Contrôleur aérien
Contrôleur maritime et ferroviaire
Pour pouvoir vous enrôler dans les FAC, vous devez :
posséder la citoyenneté canadienne ou être résident permanent vivant au Canada;
avoir au moins 18 ans (17 ans avec le consentement parental) sauf pour :
les programmes d'études subventionnées – avoir au moins 16 ans (avec le consentement des parents);
la Première réserve – avoir au moins 16 ans (avec le consentement des parents) et être aux études à temps plein;
avoir terminé sa 10 année ou son 4 secondaire au Québec (certains postes demandent un niveau d'éducation plus élevé).
Études requises
Ce poste exige que les candidat·e·s aient terminé au minimum leur 10 année ou leur 4 secondaire au Québec, conformément aux normes provinciales, notamment :
mathématiques appliquées de 10 année (Mathématiques 416 ou Culture, société et technique 4)
Il est possible que les études à l'étranger soient reconnues.
Programme d'enrôlement direct
Aucune expérience professionnelle préalable ni aucune compétence liée à la carrière ne sont requises. Un recruteur peut vous aider à déterminer si vos intérêts personnels et vos qualités correspondent aux critères de cette profession. Si le candidat possède déjà un diplôme d'études collégiales ou universitaires, les FAC décideront si son programme de formation remplit les critères de formation du poste, et il peut être envoyé directement à une formation en cours d'emploi après avoir suivi son instruction de base. L'instruction de base est requise avant toute affectation.
