About the Opportunity

• Support the Corporate Controller with month-end and year-end close, assist in managing the full-cycle accounting process for multiple entities
• Understand ASPE and GAAP, perform accounts reconciliations on monthly basis, and prepare journal entries and adjustments.
• Support year-end review / audit requirements and provide requested documentation
• Maintain CAPEX and OPEX records, such as fixed assets, capital leases, operating leases, and equipment costs.
• Work on inventory accounting and assist with inventory adjustment and physical counts.
• Support the intercompany reconciliations and drive issues to closure for loans, cross charges, and intercompany invoicing
• Responsible for HST filings, related account reconciliations, and other regulatory filings and audit as required
• Support process improvements and help maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedure
• Assist with Controller in managing project lifecycle from financial perspective
• Monitor project accounting, including budgets vs. actual, investigating any variances, and delivering financial reports.
• Review project labor, expenses, and subcontractor costs, ensuring accuracy and proper coding

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation completed or in progress strongly preferred
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably 2–3 years in a Senior Accountant or similar role
• Strong experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Experience working in project accounting, cost accounting
• Experience in construction, contracting, manufacturing, or similar industries is considered an asset Core Skills:
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
• Effective communication skills for interacting with project managers and partners.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
• Experience with ERP / accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial information

Salary Range
$80,000 - $90,000 / year
