Maintenance Supervisor

Detailed Job DescriptionThis is a great opportunity to join an organization that is committed to ending homelessness and improving the lives of the most vulnerable in our community.As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance program. This role ensures that all Cool Aid properties, including buildings, rooms, grounds, and equipment, are regularly inspected and maintained to high standards of safety, security, and operational efficiency.The Supervisor provides leadership to the maintenance team by:Overseeing daily maintenance and repair tasksEnsuring timely work order completionMaintaining compliance with safety regulationsCoordinating with management for maintenance planning and improvementsMonitoring employees' work and attendanceEnsuring adherence to policies and proceduresFostering a high-performing team environmentManaging transportation and acquisition of materials and toolsQualificationsEducationA minimum of a two (2) year trade diploma in a relevant field (construction, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.ExperienceAt least three (3) years of recent related work experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory position.RequirementsSuccessful completion of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.Class 5 Driver's License with a clear driver's abstract.Job InformationHourly Wage Rate: $33.77 - $38.77Work Location: VariousShift Time: 07:45 AM to 3:45 PMSchedule: Monday to FridayWeekly Hours: 37.5Job Type: Full-Time, PermanentUnion: BCGEUBenefits: We offer a comprehensive package that includes the Municipal Pension Plan, paid time off, and long-term disability; 100% employer-paid extended health and dental benefits, including for eligible dependents; access to telemedicine services through Sparrow; and our Employee Assistance Program, provided by Kii Health.In compliance with OHS and WorkSafe regulations, staff at this site will be supplied with and required to wear a half-mask respirator while performing task-specific duties.PortabilityUpon hire, candidates may be eligible to transfer hours previously worked at other Community Social Services agencies under the Retention and Portability Memorandum of Agreement.
