Structural Engineer

Job Description

Our client is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to manage and execute a variety of structural engineering projects.

Key Qualifications & Attributes:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
• Minimum 3 years of structural engineering experience in Ontario.
• Strong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Positive, collaborative, and client-focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities:

• Manage structural engineering projects from proposal through completion.
• Prepare and manage project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate with clients and internal team members to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
• Conduct structural assessments, inspections, and site reviews complete with detailed technical reports.
• Review engineering drawings, design briefs, and reports.
• Develop structural designs for mainly residential and commercial projects (support on industrial projects may also be required).
• Mentor and support junior staff.
• Attend client meetings both on-site and virtually.
• Assist with business development and client relationship management.

Technical Requirements:

The candidate must have knowledge and experience working with the following subjects and Canadian codes:

• Ontario Building Code
• Structural steel design (CSA S16)
• Reinforced concrete design (CSA A23.3)
• Wood design (CSA O86)

Candidates should also have working knowledge of:

• AutoCAD
• Revit
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Structural analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD, RISA, etc.)

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 annually, based on experience and demonstrated ability.
